Venice Beach in California

Venice Beach in CaliforniaVenice Beach, just south of Santa Monica, Venice Beach in CaliforniaCalifornia, is a desired destination for travelers from all over the world. It is an eclectic, funky, and definitely unique place where sidewalk vendors line the boardwalk selling their wares, many of the items homemade; and street performers entertain the passing crowds by performing their unusual talents. It is a virtual carnival running year round with free admission.

Venice is a district in western Los Angeles, California. It is known for its canals, beaches and circus-like Ocean Front Walk, which features performers, fortune-tellers and vendors. Throughout the summer months, the boardwalk is actively entertaining, and this tradition continues on weekends in the winter. It is an important tourist attraction in Southern California, and has retained its popularity in part because it is an attractive location for walking and bicycling.

What's in Venice?

Traveling along Ocean Front Walk, you'll meet dancers, comedians, musicians, jugglers, weightlifters, skaters, preachers, artists in virtually every medium, and of course the beautiful California bikini clad girls. Venice Beach offers an insight into Los Angeles' beachfront counterculture that has grown with it's own unique identity since the turn of the century. The moment you arrive, you'll be immersed in the theme that is today's Venice.

White Beach at Boracay

Boracay is a tropical and world-famous island White Beach at Boracaylocated in Aklan province It is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. The island comprises the barangays of Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak (3 of the 17 barangays which make up the municipality of Malay), and is under the administrative control of the Philippine Tourism Authority in coordination with the Provincial Government of Aklan.

Boracay Island combines crystal clear waters, sugary beaches and lush landscapes into an idyllic tourist haven that is guaranteed to fascinate and lull visitors into tranquil harmony with its simplistic beauty. Travellers commonly refer to Boracay as a heart stomping, unbelievably magical Island in the middle of the Philippines. A paradise set in the South China Sea.

Where to find Boracay?

Boracay is located approximately 315km (200 miles) south of Manila and 2km off the northwest tip of the island of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. The island is accessible by air from Manila or Cebu through two principal gateways, Caticlan airport or Kalibo airport.

What's in Boracay?

After a swim in the sea, you can engage in relaxing activities. Comb the beaches on horseback. Play an exciting game of volleyball. Get on an outrigger and sail to the other side of the island. Swim over to the floating bar and cool off with a cocktail. Or hop around one beach to another and enjoy the easy-going atmosphere.

After sunset, the island transforms into one exciting night of dancing and partying. But don't take our word for it, Boracay is an island you have to experience yourself.
For many certified sun-worshippers the world over, paradise goes by the name Boracay. For indeed, many visitors have come back to Boracay year after ytear. Some have even chosen to live in this paradise island.

History Of Boracay

The island was originally home to the Ati tribe. Boracay is part of Aklan Province, which became an independent province on April 25, 1956. Formerly undiscovered, it wasn't till the 1970s that tourism began to develop in Boracay, and the island became popular with backpackers in the 1980s.

Years ago, Boracay Island was a well-guarded secret, almost possessively so that only a few knew of its existence.

It was only in the 70's when, it is said, a foreign movie crew accidentally "discovered" this island paradise. Others maintain that it was the German traveller, Jens Peters' book, which included rave reviews of Boracay that changed the island’s pace from that of being a quiet secret to eventually being voted as having the best beach in the world.via
